Midnight Eclipse Kaolin

Midnight Eclipse Kaolin (MEK), is a product specifically designed to “boost” the UV attenuation for both UVB and UVA protection in formulations, which uses chemical organic sunscreens.  Using Midnight Eclipse Kaolin helps to spread organic UV absorbers like Avobenzone, Oxybenzone, etc. onto the skin, while also adsorbing it onto the surface of the particle so that it decreases the amount that gets absorbed into the skin.  This ability to spread  the UV absorbers evenly in a homogeneous layer is the key to obtaining high SPF, and the Midnight Eclipse Kaolin is able to help in all types of emulsions where the outside continuous layer is an oil (W/O, W/Si, etc).
